On Thursday May 2, 2019, the team at GenUI - along with a sizable assembly of our clients, partners, and friends - celebrated the completion of our first decade in business, along with the commencement of the second. The main event was held at the wonderful Fremont Foundry - just a block from the GenUI office.
Sue Pess and Heidi Bledsoe orchestrated the party around a “Best of Fremont” theme, featuring tastings from the Fremont Mischief Distillery and the Theo Chocolate Company. Music by pianist William Stover of the Dusty 45s filled the venue, as he played a beautiful baby grand piano that somehow - through no small feat of logistics - appeared on the second floor of the Foundry for the evening.
The surprise of the evening was a cake bearing our new logo and topped with the Voltron-like robot and some unbelievable frosting, presented by Sue.
Jason Greer shared some heartfelt sentiments about the people, past and present that have shared our journey and our purpose through the years.
For me, it was a time to feel tremendous gratitude, and to behold and relish in all the wonderful relationships that make up the fabric of our company. I had the unique pleasure of seeing so many people I have been working for and working with over the past ten years gathered together in one place, and wishing that everyone could know about each other what I’m fortunate to know about them: how truly outstanding they all are.
It’s been fantastic decade. And of course the best is yet to come.
